What is Google Wave?

People keep asking me what, exactly, Google Wave is... and how it's different that email.

For those of you that know what it is, you probably know that it's pretty cool. BUT, you probably also know that it's a little difficult to explain (to your average online friend) why it's so much better than regular email. At least, I think it's not a quick explanation.

Fortunately, two Google product managers (Stephanie and Greg) have put together a short video that comprehensively explains the power of the Wave. Unlike the developer's seminar video that was released with the announcement of Google Wave several months ago (at over an hour in length...), this one's less than 8 minutes long!

And, yes, I know it's 2 months old now... but I just started playing with my Wave Beta preview, so it's new to me! Maybe it's new to you, too!

It's tools like this video that are going to accelerate the adoption of Google Wave. I think Wave is great, but it's going to be tough to get the already-grumbling-email-using masses to switch over in a big way; that kind of mass adoption is what Wave needs in order for its features to really shine.

I predict that it'll take at least 5 years for the level of adoption that will make Google Wave more applicable than Gmail or other email services.

But, until then... see you on the wave!

Blog you very much!

So, this is the second blog I've tried to start on the vast Internet machine.

The first one was useless. Just random thought.

This one will only be partially useless, but I'll try to put more... relevant... things up here from time to time. From there, perhaps people will find the blog on their respective Google machines. Then, I'll be a blogger!

Just another exercise in Web2.0-ing myself.
